Program Overview

An innovative degree program that creates English language teaching specialists for a variety of educational levels and cross cultural settings. This program is a great choice for both native and non-native English speakers.

Course Duration

This program offers the opportunity to earn a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in TESOL in 15 months1 by doing four quarters of study online and one summer or winter session at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB).

You may also take one or two classes per quarter if you do not have the time to be a full-time student.

We offer a full10-week residential quarter in the winter or a 5-week residential period in the summer.

Program Fees

The fee for each course is $1,500 which includes:

  • All books
  • Application fee
  • Campus fee
  • Comprehensive exam fee
  • Graduation fee
  • Health insurance while in the U.S. during the residential session.

Fees do not include airfare, housing or personal expenses while in the U.S.

Application Process and Requirements5

    • Official copy of student's undergraduate records and diploma from an accredited institution
      • Must have a GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 semester or 90 quarter-units attempted
    • Statement of purpose
    • Curriculum vitae
    • Three letters of recommendation
  3. Submit Additional Documentation for International Applicants
    • Submit official TOEFL scores:
      • 79/80 for the Internet-based test
      • 213 for the computer-based test
      • or 550 for the paper-based test
      • or an IELTS score of 6.0 are required
    • Bank statement proving financial responsibility.

1 Finishing the master's in 15 months is based on taking 3 courses per quarter. Two courses per quarter at the master's level is considered to be full-time study. If you are working full time or have other serious obligations, it is highly recommended that you take only one or two courses per quarter, in which case the program can be completed in approximately two years. Course offerings are based on enrollment figures and therefore may affect the ability to register in 3 courses. CSUSB reserves the right to cancel course offerings when necessary.Return to 1.

2 An average GPA of 3.0 must be maintained in the program for successful completion. Return to 2.

3 Students must receive a grade of B or better in this course to continue in the program. Return to 3.

4 Students must receive a grade of C or better in this course to continue in the program. Return to 4.

5 Students must satisfactorily meet the professional, personal, scholastic, and other standards for graduate study to determine eligibility for MA program. Return to 5.
